Genealogy Room

The Heritage Room of the Cedartown Public Library provides the genealogical researcher with materials from local history sources, the U.S. government census, and many books and magazines that focus on aspects of researching family history. Also available is a microform reader/printer that provides access to materials that have been microfilmed for easier storage.

A genealogy database by HeritageQuest is the largest genealogy data company in the world searching U.S. census from 1790,1800,1810,1850 (partial) ,1860 (partial),1870,1910 (partial) , World Immigration Series ,U.S. Marriages 1691-1850, Indiana Vital Records Collection, Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Index , and HeritageQuest's Surname Query Center.

The Ancestry Library Edition collection has approximately 4,000 databases including key collections such as U.S. federal census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930; the Map Center containing more than 1,000 historical maps; American Genealogical Biographical Index (over 200 volumes), Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes), The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1630, Social Security Death Index, WWI Draft Registration Cards, Federal Slave Narratives, and a strong Civil War collection. All materials may be searched at once (using a basic or advanced search screen), or various databases and indexes may be searched individually.
